The Future of PLM, Built by the Minds Behind Agile

Our founders were instrumental in shaping Agile into the industry standard more than two decades ago. But technology doesn’t stand still.

They envisioned a more robust, easy-to-use, modern version built on the cloud, and named it Propel.

Today, our team dedicates our 125+ years of combined Agile experience to helping companies build better products, faster, with a PLM that’s built for the future.

Agile → Propel Use Cases
True Closed Loop Quality
True closed-loop quality requires product, quality, and supplier data to exist in genuine conversation with each other: updated in real time and accessible to every team that needs it. For Agile PLM users, achieving that outcome has required an ecosystem of duct tape and determination. With Propel, it's the default.

Native Agentic AI
Propel One wasn’t retrofitted onto a legacy system, leaving gaps for vulnerability. It was built natively into a platform designed for exactly the data it needs to act on: product records, quality events, change histories, supplier information, and compliance documentation.

Product Quality
For organizations running on Agile PLM, the absence of a tightly integrated, natively capable QMS leads to compounding, repeat issues and compliance risk. Propel unifies quality processes—complaints, CAPA, NCR/NCMR, audits, document control, training, and inspections—on a single platform.

NPI & Design Transfer
MedTech NPI doesn’t have margin for the failures that fragmented systems produce. For Agile PLM users, these are structural liabilities of an architecture that was never designed to unify design, quality, and supplier data in a single governed thread. Propel was built to make unification the default.

New Product Development
For Agile PLM users, failures across NPD processes aren't edge cases. They're the cost of an architecture that was never designed to unify the people, processes, and data that NPD actually requires. Propel was built to make them the exception, not the operating model.

Supplier Management
Managing supply chain risk well means having supplier data, product data, quality data, and cost data in the same place, governed by the same access controls, visible to the right people at the right time. That's what Propel was built to deliver, and Agile PLM never could.

Life After Agile: A Bright Future
User adoption was our number one concern, and it was clear from our initial calls that Propel was the perfect partner to help us achieve that goal.
Beth LeClerc | Former Agile User | Savant Systems
We successfully migrated 50GB of compressed data from Oracle Agile in a short timeframe. Propel is being continuously improved (unlike Agile).
Nick Murray | Former Agile User | Loadrite
We needed to upgrade our PLM from a very outdated Agile system. We launched Propel and haven't looked back.

FAQ
Why do I need to make a change from Agile?
Oracle has communicated that there will no longer be an Agile 9.3.7. This means that 9.3.6, delivered in 2017(!) is to be the last Agile release. Customers are finding it increasingly difficult to keep their Agile systems properly maintained and efficiently running.
Why do I need to do it now?
By scrapping the Agile 9.3.7 release, Oracle has made this an imperative for all Agile customers. Continuing to rely on Agile as the source of your product information and the engine for your product operations is an expensive and risky proposition.
Why should I consider Propel?
Propel is a modern, cloud-based solution with many key advantages over Agile such as reporting, supplier collaboration, and product commercialization.
What’s the migration process like?
Propel will work with you to identify the key processes and use cases you wish to adopt or improve. From there, our team will partner with yours to extract your data, transform it appropriately, load it into your Propel environment, and ensure your deployment team is trained up and comfortable with the move.
